‘The Best Way’

The White House released the following statement today:

Nothing has changed. POTUS has always said that what is essential is that health insurance reform must lower costs, ensure that there are affordable options for all Americans and increase choice and competition. He believes the public option is the best way to achieve those goals.

Again, the takeaway from today’s turmoil is that until the Conference Committee convenes, the sands of reform will shift and bend. The best thing we can all do at this point is to keep our heads down and activate! Crank up the email and let our lawmakers know that the public option is mandatory.

Doomsaying and defeatism won’t get us anywhere.

This is what I thought earlier; that KS said what the WH has been saying, but she said it a) very poorly and b)misrepresentedly. Also, could agree more about the defeatism. as much as we complain that Dems in Congress bow down to the Reps too much, I think we on the left are guilty of the same thing. We’re that person in the office who loves to complain about how much things suck, but isn’t willing to do what it takes to change it. So I would add one thing to Bob’s recommendation: let the media know. Because, frankly, our reps know already and they clearly don’t care, b/c the public perception is that hcr is unpopular. It’s time to force the media to tell the truth.

Sorry Bob, I don’t buy it!What I see is a POTUS caving to the loud minority – PERIOD.Get ready for another law written by the lobbyists, that’s what we’re going to get!My only question is: who will Obama’s primary challenger be in 2012?As far as I’m concerned it’s time to stick a fork in this administration, it’s over-done! Maybe even burned!!!!!!!!!!

Awwww shucks….my last comment was just chalk-full of defeatism and doomsaying! You’re right though, it’s not over til the fat lady sings. Let’s get on the phone and teh internets and give this thing a boost.>>>My only question is: who will Obama’s primary challenger be in 2012?Methinks not. Bringing a primary challenge would be nothing short of political suicide.

Obama’s primary challenge? You wish you had it like that. The only one that can possibly beat President Obama in the 2012 primaries, is candidate Obama from 2008.
