The Lynch Mob

Some wingnuts at a town hall meeting think the concept of lynching members of Congress is hilarious and awesome. Lynching because of healthcare reform. In other words, making healthcare affordable, portable and accessible is a lynching-worthy trespass.

Again — and forgive the repetitive mentions of this concept — but you know what the CBO is leaving out of its scoring of the healthcare bills? There will be considerable savings with the public option and Medicare when upwards of 50 million Republicans opt out of the system. Because — noooo! — there aren’t any Republican wingnuts who will accept socialized health insurance like Medicare. Never! They’ll all bail out of the system. And there certainly won’t be any lynch-mob wingnuts signing up for the very affordable and convenient public option either. Massive savings to the tax payer, I’m sure.

Those busy-bodied old fogies are showing up to these town halls at the beck and call of political scalawags. No one was going to be “lynched” by a bunch of addle-brained, damn-near octogenarians and George Sodinis-in-training with too much time on their hands. They show up to the wrong meeting, there may be a more serious reason why the swine on television showcase their little phony displays of outrage, and it won’t have anything to do with appeasing their corporate benefactors like usual.

I’m pretty sure that irony is lost on most of these chowderheads.

Isn’t the greater irony that their entire point is they don’t want the government running their lives, and yet they do exactly what they are told to do by their Republican masters?

And I’m sure that they all will refuse the H1N1 vaccine, when it becomes available, because it’s coming from the federal government.

I think there is another social implication of threatening to lynch liberal congressmen. A lot of this rage is directed at our African American president, immigrants, brown people in general. I find this disturbing at yet another level.

Here’s the problem- this is for our meeting next week with Perriello:George,I have been working for single payer health care. While it seems not to get anywhere, I am planning to go to Tom Perriello’s “town” meetings. If there are others who want to stand up against the corporate mobs (“teabaggers”), invite them to join us. We will stand quietly with signs and blue armbands and watch the rants. If they don’t show up, we will discuss health care with Tom.For those who want to “do something” – here is their chance!STAND QUIETLY WITH OUR BLUE ARM BANDS.I mean WTF???? THIS is why we are in the trouble we’re in. Democrats just don’t want to get down and dirty. They don’t know how to fight.I can pretty much guarantee that if one of these morons gets up in my face I won’t be standing uietly with my arm band intact.I’m thoroughly disgusted.

Say what you will about him, but John Edward’s “Two Americas” becomes more clear by the day.

Hmmm… does anyone remember this awesome legislator being shouted down or called a liar or told his lawyerness is not gonna fool us or requiring a security detail to get to his car? There were no socialist/marxist/Obamabots there to ruin his town hall? None at all? They got to hold their meeting in peace?

The CBO is also leaving out the savings that will accure from increased preventative care and early intervention.
