Seriously, this post by Chuck Todd referring to the progressive "public option fetish" is something that just screams Halperin. As a matter of fact, I think Chuck's been leaping through the swamps of Degobah with Mark Halperin strapped to his back muttering on and on about what it means to be a very serious media villager.
The reality is that the public option was adopted as a compromise position by liberals and progressives who mostly prefer a single-payer system. And we're holding fast here. If Chuck Todd could get beyond this very serious insidery group-think fetish, he'd realize that it's not progressives who are intransigent on this. It's the centrists who are refusing to meet us halfway.
