‘Indoctrination’

What else do you call this? From August, 2004:

Several Democrats who wanted to hear Vice President Dick Cheney speak in New Mexico on July 31st were required to recite an unusual pledge of allegiance. Before allowing them to attend Cheney’s speech at Rio Rancho Mid-High School, the Bush campaign demanded they sign an endorsement form saying they support the president. A campaign spokesman said the pledge was intended to weed out Democrats who might disrupt the event — but the “loyalty oath” infuriated many voters. “I resent the school that my taxes paid for being used for an event that’s restricted to people who sign a pledge to the Republican Party,” said Jim Brown, a longtime resident of Rio Rancho.

Then again a black president urging kids to stay in school is much, much worse.

You had to do that at practically every Bush rally, and they say it was to weed out disruptive Democrats but if one of them had actually signed it then publicly stated he’d voted Democrat they would have shat themselves with faux outrage at a Democrat not honoring their word. And one of the frequent comebacks at any recent criticism of the crazies at the town halls from Republicans was to interrupt and say “these are American citizens expressing their outrage at blah blah blah.” Democrats are not real Americans, though, and were kept away from President Bush, Vice President Cheney and herded into “Free Speech Zones”. Democrats are subversive, disruptive, disloyal (they don’t support the President in a time of war), dangerous.Aw crap now I’m worked up.

I call it latent fascism, Bob.You do understand that the GOP/Republican Party is full of evil people that speak with forked tongues, do you not?Of course they’re a bunch of damned hypocrites, along with everything else you can think of that is horrible.Call it what it is. There can be no doubts any longer.

The tea-bagger on MSNBC after the speech didn’t have a problem with the content of the speech, he said, but with the lesson plan that suggested teachers talk about their students’ goals for the future, “which delves into the psyche of the students, which is illegal.” Good F’ing Almighty, already. To which Dr. Nancy replied, “Are you kidding me? We can’t ask children what they want to be when they grow up?” I swear, some poor people go on TV and demand not to be taken seriously, but we keep humoring them for the sake of “fairness.”

Bob-I’m glad your are driving home the point, as you have several times recently, that the only explanation for the insanity going on around us is racism. Pure and simple.
