Kent Conrad Doesn’t Get It

From Brian Beutler’s coverage of the Finance Committee debate today:

11:55 a.m.: Conrad’s up. He calls his co-op model a “public interest” model, despite the fact that the CBO says his co-op plan would be a big bust. He’s also very mistakenly saying that the French health care system would be a bit like the Baucus bill with a non-profit option.

The French system is nothing like the Baucus Plan. Good gravy, who is this guy?!

Goddammit, Blue goddamn Cross is “non profit.” Don’t make me dig for reasons why that means nothing to cost savings!

Conrad is bought and paid for and desperately trying to secure future funding from the health insurance industry. Everything he says from here on out will reflect that.
