“[You] are doing nothing but reinforcing the stereotype that the conservative right is insane.”
—Insane wingnut conspiracy theorist Alex Jones in an open letter to insane wingnut conspiracy theorist Glenn Beck

I’d buy tickets to watch the wingnut knockout match of the century. It goes without saying that guns would be involved to provide even more entertainment.

Shit, the no-talent con man and two-faced coward, Glenn Speck, is horning in on Jones’s racket, which is something you just don’t do.Slap-fight!

This reminds me of the time Jones attacked David Icke for making the fringe look like idiots with his shape-shifting underground alien reptilian overlords theories.Of course, Jones had Icke on his show a couple of weeks later; they agreed that “dark forces” were at work in the world and then agreed to disagree on whether the dark forces were lizard people or Illuminati.

Nice. The feeding frenzy begins. They’re starting to turn on each other. I especially like this from the letter:

During your Monday September 22 2008 TV broadcast, you expressed your vehement support for the bailout, stating, “The $700 billion dollars that you’re hearing about now is not only I believe necessary, it is also not nearly enough.” However, as soon as Bush left office and Obama picked up the baton and continued the same financial policy, you changed your tune and routinely attacked the bailout as an example of how socialism was taking over America.

    Bingo!

Wow. I went and read the whole letter, also. I’d never heard of this guy before, and (wonder of wonders!), he appears sincere in his beliefs. As opposed to Beck, whom he rightly calls a whore; I’ve always strongly felt Beck, like Limbaugh, simply uses an ideologically based template as point of departure and every fact that comes along is twisted and warped until it fits into a hole in that template.I’d love to see these guys conversing face to face. It could be a one-act play, set in the padded ward of an insane asylum.

That is a priceless find.. because at his little appearance in Michigan he said the opposite..Here is just a bit from his speech to the Chamber of Commerce which drew about 150 protesters and maybe 12 supporters last night.. according to the police..

Beck took both Republicans and Democrats to task, saying that both parties needed to get their own houses in order before attacking the other.“I hate the Republicans almost as much as the Democrats,” he said.He did offer one opinion that might be considered controversial in Michigan, even among Republicans. Saying that failure is good because it leads to success

I have a good friend who theorizes that maybe Glenn Beck isn’t insane at all, but is instead a brilliant comic mind, ala Andy Kaufman… and this merely a character he is playing. We just haven’t got the joke yet.

Wolfe,If Beck starts fights with Jerry Lawler, then maybe I’ll buy that.

Firstly, there is only one Kaufman. Speck is not Kaufman in any way. Speck is akin to those many disc jockeys that struggle for years to find an angle with which to co-opt. Most settle for the “shock jock,” where Speck settles for the “schlock jock.” He’s got corporate backing and that is the only how reason his one-note commentary gets traction. The people behind him see him as some sort of everyman, but when you actually look and listen to him, you can see that he so desperately wants to be an working actor, yet lacks the true talent to make it in the acting medium. Just like Wimpbaugh in a way, whose act he purloined and pussified.

    I respect neither.

If you think Alex Jones is wacky, take a look at his comments. Whooooooooooo doggies! That’s some pure-dee A-1 krazy right there. Very, very entertaining stuff.
