Schizoid

Glenn Beck one year ago. Looooooves the bailout. Thinks it’s too small, actually.

Here’s Glenn Beck in January ripping the bailout:

And yesterday:

He [Obama] will say that Bush started us down the path toward socialism, and he’d be right by that. Bush started the crazy spending. He would be right again. Bush started the bailouts. Yes, he did — hated him for it.

It might make people feel better, somehow, to point out the inconsistencies and inaccuracies in whatever happens to come out of Beck’s mouth.I just remind myself of his interview with the ladies on The View. He admitted in no uncertain terms that he is just an entertainer and that he never, I repeat never, fact checks. As long as he is satisfied with that role and he gets paid handily for it, he will not stop.

What chaps me is that Beck is on a “NEWS” channel. See the “Fox News” logo emblazoned at the bottom lefthand corner? I think he and Limbaugh don’t believe a word of what they say and they laugh all the way to the bank. The problem is the idiots in this country that do believe what he says and thinks he is a reporter. Surely there is some kind of legislation that we can push for that states any “entertainment” show on a news channel has to be clearly marked as such……And if they purport to be a news show when they are actually an entertainment show, then they should be penalized for spreading obvious falsehoods, with or without a political agenda. I would rather have the marketplace do this kind of regulation–ya know the good old fashioned way, where people were actually educated and informed enough to know when someone is spouting bullshit and would change the channel to a channel that actual does report verified news. But that is just TOO much to ask for with the American public. I’m getting more and more disgusted with “teh stoopidity” of my fellow Americans every day.

“Day by day and almost minute by minute the past was brought up to date. In this way every prediction made by the Party could be shown by documentary evidence to have been correct; nor was any item of news, or any expression of opinion, which conflicted with the needs of the moment, ever allowed to remain on record. All history was a palimpsest, scraped clean and reinscribed exactly as often as was necessary.”– George Orwell, 1984
