Wingnuts Lying About Attendance

Malkin blogged about how ABC News estimated 2 million people at the crazy rally yesterday.

She made it up.

ABC News did not estimate 2 million people.

There were around 60,000 people at the rally. That’s a lot fewer. Then again, I think the wingnuts are developing their own “non-liberal” math.

    As has been noted all over the place, there were several football games yesterday that drew larger crowds. And for this they prepped for 6 months and spent millions of dollars.Plus, we have to assume that tally includes the kids who were dragged along. Should they count? It’s not like they can vote…

    @Eric… I don’t really control the banners that run here. That said…If anyone spots that ad again, let me know what website it points to so I can see about blocking it.

    I saw the Malkin claim last night on Media Matters but, TPM had the link to the abcnews pages which blased Matt Kibbe who is the President of Freedom Works for claiming that abc estimated the crowd at 2 million. ABC News said that neither they or any of their affilliates put out those false numbers. They said the released the DC Fire Department’s estimate which was between 60-70,000. Nice try bug eyes! Now, try taking a math class!

    You guys, let them think it was almost 2 million people. They will become seriously demoralized when they see that even millions of them won’t stop Obama’s fascist agenda. Even more so when more fascists unseat their heroes in Congress.

    I saw a Newt ad last week. Ick.Everything plays into their paranoid fantasies. They’ll say there were 14 million people there, but when presented with evidence that it was just 60K, and that possibly 75K of that was press with nothing else more important to report on, they’ll counter with “You want to minimize our significance! You’ve woken a sleeping giant! We surround you and you just want to make it sound like we don’t! RAWR!”You know, if we ended the very socialistic Medicare and the additionally socialistic disability benefits from Social Security, we could thin that herd of nuts by 65% by the end of October…
