I think she was expressing disbelief that he would sign up for medicare if it were available to him, not that she thought he was eligible.Not as stupid as not understanding that Weiner doesn’t qualify, but telling nonetheless:Medicare is for poor, sick, losers (according to the mindset of the established wealthy) — which is why she scoffed at him for admiring the system.Doesn’t matter if you can get around just fine and comfy and safe in an Accord — one simply does not get caught dead in a Honda.
