DEFCON-1

This is just getting better and better. First, the good news and then the funny news.

Democratic sources tell me that Reid – after a series of meetings with Democratic moderates – has concluded he can pass a bill with a public option.

And the funny news:

“Baucus went to DEFCON 1,” said a source familiar with the negotiations, referring to the alert level the military uses for an imminent attack on the homeland.

I don’t know if it’s accurate, but just the idea of Baucus flipping his shit is good enough for me.

Plus, I heard on the Ed Show that the House has enough votes to pass their bill with the public option. Though it’s unclear which version of the public option that would be. There are currently three public options floating around the House, with the Medicare Part E plan being the strongest, according to CBO scoring.

after the hell Baucus put ALL of us through with his swarmy smile and wellpointe pandering I love the idea of him losing his shit…GOOD!!!

If the bill passes the Senate with less than 60 votes, Baucus may have to invent a new Defcon Level.

The mere thought of Baucus in meltdown mode makes me smile.

I loathe Baucus. The fact that he said he is for the public option, but couldn’t put it in the Finance Bill is one of the most pathetic things I have ever heard from a pol.

It is times like these that I ponder this:Do we elect these worthless hairballs because 1) Voters are stupid, or 2) competent people do not run for congress? This shit happening now with Reid, Baucus, etc. would not be material for a B movie. Just too unbelievable.

I bet the hot shit shot right out of his mouth like some geyserous spit take. And, to no one’s surprise, we find that the craptastical bill he reported had nothing to do with “getting sixty votes” but instead was designed to please his masters.

Baucus can take his paid-by-us public insurance and go buy some chill pills.

Hielo–I think it is more of an indictment of the system than anything else. Until we get corporate money/lobbying out of politics, it will never change. Corporate interests have become so powerful that they have been able to mobilize a movement built on people screaming at the top of their lungs against their own interests.
