Heckuva Job, Harwood

John Harwood walked back his anonymous quote. Benen reports:

John Harwood said his blind quote/paraphrase yesterday was not in reference to the “LGBT community or the marchers.” Adam Serwer added, “[T]he folks who have spent all day explaining how this one anonymous statement proved the ‘truth’ of the president’s contempt for the LGBT community were just plain wrong.”

Okay. Can we all agree now that anonymous quotes shouldn’t be taken seriously?

I’ve never trusted ‘anonymous’ or Harwood.

The worst part of this whole thing is that it killed an entire day (and counting) of real news on the talking heads shows. On the flip side, it really doesn’t matter that this was a distraction because we’re looking for anything to cause distraction. I’ve even read some wackiness from the left on how this latest feud between the WH and Fox is manufactured by the White House to distract from the health care debate.Seriously? Do we need to just make shit up now?

Thanks for pointing out the complete idiocy of taking the word of anonymous sources as gospel (even Deep Throat was fact checked). I know Obama is under ever increasing scutiny, but after reading the progressive blogs last night and continually reading entries saying “see! Obama hates the gays! Obama Doesn’t care about progressives! Obama is Bush lite!”, etc. I definitely see how some on the left are looking for reasons to hit Obama with the same fervor as some of our favorite wingnuts. Maybe they know how Michelle Malkin feels now.BTW, I’m proud that Obama won the Nobel. So there.

What the hell is with these pundits, analysts, these grown frickin men, acting like tattle tales!? Geez!Yesterday I saw this and thought ‘nah not today’, it’s all too much for my psyche…just leave politics alone today. I watched nothing political and did something for me instead. We must not take these folks seriously,as they just like the shit stirring and the constant drama of ‘he say,she say’, ‘I am the first one with the strory’etc. Please, grow the hell up,guys!
