Quote of the Day

“I’m also pleased that the bill includes a public option offered in an exchange. As I’ve said throughout this process, a public option that competes with private insurers is the best way to ensure choice and competition that are so badly needed in today’s market.” —President Obama on the House healthcare reform bill

Why does the president clearly hate the public option?

See, Bob, this is his incredible chess game to destroy the public option. By saying that he likes it, it’s obvious to those within the beltway that he is trying to discourage lawmakers from including it. You apparently haven’t been reading your conventional media wisdom kit.

If Obama gets exactly what he wanted and campaigned on and asked for in a health care reform bill, then it’s just pure luck. And when it happens with cap & trade, that will be just pure luck too. When he winds up with 95% of his agenda by 2012, that will be just dumb, pure LUCK, I tell you. Everything he wanted just fell in his lap because he’s a follower, not a leader, or something.

Hey Bob, don’t you just love how all the whining malcontents out there, the same people who tried to make us believe that Barack Obama secretly wears elephant print boxers while betraying his base on Health Care – keep clumsily moving the “Obama is going to sell us out” goal posts as this process goes forward? I’m all for holding Obama accountable, but the histrionic handwringing from some on our side concerning Health Care has been nauseating.

Okay, I need some help understanding. I’m looking at Ed Shultz right now, and he’s truly pissed at this bill. It’s not the best bill, but it’s not crap either, in my opinion. Can somebody please explain to me what I’m missing?

  • Lexaburn

Uh, Staci, I believe you’re missing the fact that Ed Shultz is a drama queen on the MSNBC network.

  • Rogect8

    Yeah, I’m w/ Lex.Schultz is a bit of a Streisand.
