Former CNN contributor, former Jesse Helms adviser, insurance cartel shill and well-known race-baiter Alex Castellanos is the new senior communications adviser to Michael Steele at the RNC.

Get ready for an upswing in Republican dog whistles and white power sloganeering. Once again, the Republican Party is working very diligently to marginalize itself as a white southern evangelical party, composed of low-information voters.

UPDATE: Correction. Castellanos will remain a CNN analyst during his gig at the RNC.
