Roundtable of Morons

I’m watching This Week and the debate about healthcare is stacked with two Republicans, Ben Nelson (filibustering reform), and Debbie Wasserman-Schultz. Poor Debbie. Surrounded by flaming idiots.

To wit, Rep. Marsha Blackburn (R-TN) just said:

“There is no test case out there that they can point to, no pilot project they can point to where a government-controlled health care system has brought down the cost, increased the access, taken care of those with pre-existing and chronic conditions, allowed portability, dealt with malpractice reform.”

No test case?! Every industrialized nation in the world provides healthcare for its citizens! And they do it more cheaply and effectively than we do. We’re being left behind by the rest of the world. How dare these morons defend a system — the only system in the industrialized world — that allows people to go bankrupt because they get sick — that allows people to die because of the corporate profit motive. It’s disgraceful. We’re disgraceful.

Adding… Say nothing of the fact that when, for example, we were debating whether to invade Iraq, there were never three opponents and one supporter on a Sunday show panel. Ever.

I haven’t watched MTP yet, but I felt the same way about their lineup: Dick Durbin faced Diane “Hot & Cold” Feinstein, Kay Bailey Hutchison and Lieberdouche.

Debbie can hold her own. Mushbrain can only look like shit by comparison.

Terri, when did you become nothing more than a troll? And a bad troll at that.

  • caribbeanobserver

Terri me love ‘ Its the media, stupid’…and you know it.Sir Cesca, please whine when you know there is need to …and keep on calling out the media on their crap! Thanks in advance

As soon as I heard that Cheney was going to be on….again, I couldn’t even watch. This show is a disgrace. Stephanopoulos is tone deaf to the ignorance of his panels each week. It seems to always lean heavy on the minority party of idiots. I will never understand why they think the concerns of the party out of power is a concern to the majority of Americans. Ever since he had Michelle Malkin and Laura Ingraham on, I haven’t been watching as much and instead, have relied on the clips. Meet The Press is also awful. Don’t get me started!

  • roxsteady

I’m not sure how Terri can compare Bob to Palin. Bob know the policies of which he speaks. He’s clearly educated and she clearly is NOT! I’m not sure how you make that connection?

And they seem to be afflicted with this mindset only when the more corporate friendly, jingoistic party is the one out of power.. strange phenomenon, isn’t it?/snark

Interesting (if unfair) comparison, Terri. Cesca criticizes the media when they don’t do their job, Palin criticizes the media when the do.However, you’ve showed us how your mind works.I’ve got one:What do Terri, Glenn Beck and Michele Bachmann have in common?Everyone can fill in their own answer.

  • Irish Girl

    @Wolfe

What do Terri, Glenn Beck and Michele Bachmann have in common?

    My answer: They’re extremist “rogues”?

  • http://oneceltsview.blogspot.com/ Wolfe_Tone

Irish Girl:Well, that’s not a bad answer.”They’re all Batshit Crazy” works, too.

  • Allonfla

Wow Terri that was really a stupid and uncalled for comment. If it was supposed to be a joke, you are not funny. Since when did you defend the media? Oh that’s right, when they go after Obama or his administration. So now it doesn’t matter where the attacks come from?Whatever. Cesca didn’t deserve that.

  • http://oneceltsview.blogspot.com/ Wolfe_Tone

Terri is sort of “Beckonian,” but without his charm.

  • veralynn

    Beck has charm?

    Heh.

“It’s disgraceful. We’re disgraceful.”True and true!We should all be ashamed if even one of our fellow Americans dies, or even suffers, due to a lack of health care, due to homelessness, due to a lack of food, etc.We should be doubly ashamed when many of those suffering or dieing are veterans of our armed services – the same people that have fought and crippled their minds and bodies to keep us safe.We should be even more ashamed that a vast majority of those suffering are not “welfare queens” (or kings), but rather Americans that work two or three part time jobs just to survive! And honestly the problem lies not in the so-called “conservative” politicians but in the electorate itself. For piss sake a vastly larger number of Americans prefer Palin over … say Nader!I’ll grant you they’re at vastly different ends of the political spectrum but for fuck sake, who are WE? I live in Kansas – a very Republican state – and who the fuck do we cry to when things get tough? The government! Not enough flu vaccine – blame the government! Lost your job – blame the government! Got screwed on your 401k – blame the government! And just keep electing dumbass so-called conservatives who actually represent no one but the corporate interests! We should all hang our heads in shame! Not to mention that we do live in an era of a global economy. Like it or not that’s the way things are. In order to compete we must adapt. The fucking Republicans seem to think the way to do that is create our own Caste society. The problem began with Reagan, and that resulted in the “pussification” of the Democratic party! To this day we let the Saint Reagan syndrome live! No one dare speak poorly of St. Reagan, a god damn TV show was killed due to that premise!Revisionist history has that effect. But it only works when the electorate is either stupid or ill informed, or a combination of the two! That is in fact how Hitler rose to power!

“What do Bob Cesca and Sarah Palin have in common? They both whine about the media.”Try a teeny tiny bit of objective analysis here:Why does Sarah whine? Because the media makes her look bad!Why does Bob ….. errrm ….. complain? Because the media misleads it’s subscribers!IMHO it’s time for Bob to add the nasty back to the blog title just to prove he could give a rats ass about perception of himself! If you don’t know that Bob could give a shit less about perception you haven’t read very long. He tangles with us all from time to time!Or, in the ever enduring words of Harry Nilsson:You’re breaking my heartYou’re tearing it apartSo fuck you

  • DP23

Terri whines more about anything Bob than she does about the bat-shittiest of the right wingnuts. It’s her way of keeping her lips firmly planted in Stranahan’s ass.

  • likala

“Terri whines more about anything Bob than she does about the bat-shittiest of the right wingnuts.”You nailed it DP. She and Stranny are both obsessed with Bob and it’s obvious they’re both here just to bait him. There’s probably not enough meds in the world for either of them to get over their BDS (Bob Derangement Syndrome).

Well, Ms. Marsha…I happen to live in one of those countries that has done exactly that…and done so for a few decades now.Funny, the majority of my country’s citizens are actually happy with our healthcare system…so much so that any politician threatening to change such system would be commiting political suicide.Your ignorance is simply astounding…sadly, in your country, you are so not alone in your idiocy.
