Crazy Quote of the Day

“This is what I meant a year ago when I said the next year will determine whether Barack Obama will be an Uncle Tom groveling before the demands of the corporations.” —Ralph Nader

Uncle Tom? Really?

I have an idea. next time you’re desperate for attention, Mr. Nader, why not do a zany Steve O stunt — put a jellyfish on your head or something.

Still pissed because lefties still see you as a nut bag who is still Irrelevant? Do us a favor skinny and go into the same witness protection program that Ross Perot has apparently entered! Or maybe you could head over to firedog where implosion has become their new mantra!

  • GOVCHRIS1988

As an African American who saw your candidacy in 2000 usher in one of the worst Presidencies in history, I say with profound sincerity, FUCK YOU YOU RACE BAITING SON OF A BITCH!

  • eve

What an ass. He cares nothing about the US — it’s all about him. He is the Palin of the left.

  • brutlyhonest

What an insufferable ass. eve nailed it: It’s not about doing good with nader, it’s about being in the spotlight. Did he use twitter or facebook to make this brilliant pronouncement? Would seem appropriate, also therefore ubetcha.

  • MobiWan

Oh good, the “man of the people” imparts his wisdom on us yet again. It did us such good in 2000. And this time with a little racist twist! Festive! Fracking jerkoff. I wish he’d take his enormous and undeserved ego and just go away for good.

  • JG

The man that gift wrapped 8 years of Cheney/Bush…nuff said.

  • Wolfe_Tone

C’mon, everyone.Tell us how you really feel about Ralph Nader!

  • roxsteady

    He’s a douchebag!

  • Eric

Ditto, and ditto, and ditto…etc.I’ll be hitting the road soon to be with family in Michigan. We’ve had some freezing rain, but the worst seems to be to the west. I’ll do my best to stay safe, and I hope all of you will, also.To all who observe – the very best of Christmases!!!

  • IntoxiNation

I hate hearing “Uncle Tom” because every time I do I get the song Uncle Tom’s Cabin by Warrant stuck in my head.

  • roxsteady

It’s really quite pathetic. What is this “Good Times”? “The Jeffersons”? or “What’s Happening”? He’s not only insulting but, he’s also exposed himself as a corny ass, washed up, out of touch has been, who never was. He ran off the rails years ago.

  • eljefejeff

And yet if you check huffington or FDL, half the whiners are talking about voting for Nader again. You know, cuz it’s worked out so magnificently each of the other times he’s run.If a republican referred to Obama as Uncle Tom he’d cease to be relevant(except in parts of the South) and Nader should be held to the same standard.

  • http://broadwaycarl.blogspot.com Broadway Carl

It was pretty pathetic when he said it last year, and even more so now. Besides, we all know the real Uncle Tom is Michael Steele. BOOM!Happy holidays, everyone!

  • kansasdem

    What. An. Ass.

One foot in the grave, seeing his life pass by completely. A never-was attempting to besmirch a man. It’s no fun for people like Nadar when the entire population has the opportunity to do what only corporatists he railed against allowed him to a couple of decades ago. It’s a common scam. Get a lackey to rail against certain practices for PR purposes. Unbelievable as it may be, this is exactly what Nader was. Include Jesse Jackson in this category, as well. He’s always been a two-face.I got hip to Nadar’s act back in 2000. Of the choices of third-party candidates, I chose Patrick J. Buchanan, because at least he was an honest ideologue with a few good points. That aught to inform you of my point of view regarding Mr. Nader. He is, and forever will be, a political opportunist, in the vein of Alan Keyes and, at this point, Sarah Palin (except she, to her credit, actually held office). Some are waking up to this fact, and others hide behind his postures in weak attempts at self-aggrandizement.I’m willing to admit that I was taken by some of the forces that spoke against Gore’s fortitude back in 2000, yet I knew he’d make a better president than Bush Jr. What some are accusing Obama of now i.e. being a corporate sellout, Nader was guilty of back in 2000, when the neocons needed someone to help hide their shenanigans. Look at the bigger picture, especially in Florida, and you will see that Nader was willing accomplice to theft. He attempted to pull the same shit again in the last election, but the outcome of the Dem primary wasn’t what was expected, so he dropped out. He was smart enough to recognize that he wasn’t going to stop the bumrush of African-American voters going out for Barack Obama. Next thing you know, he’s on YouTube talking to a parrot in an attempt to stay relevant to intellectual burnouts entertained by such phenomena. Nader is a ghost.
