Stay Classy, Republicans

Tom Coburn last night on the floor of the Senate:

“What the American people ought to pray is that somebody can’t make the vote tonight.”

And the Republicans got all pissed at the accusation that their healthcare plan is “die quickly?” I mean, they’re literally praying for misfortune against senators who will vote for it.

Hopefully Tom’s God won’t be able to listen to those kind of prayers because he’s being filibustered by the millions of people who are praying that they don’t get sick.

Perhaps he meant due to the snowstorm? Nah that wouldn’t be as dramatic.

Well, when you’ve consciously made a decision, as a political party, to completely disengage from the process of legislation, this is the only thing left to you.

I’m not so sure he was talking about Senator Byrd, myself, but it’s probably just because he didn’t think of it. He probably wishes he thought of that.

Tom, God apparently likes the prayers from Democrats better than your evil prayer.or the spaghetti monster

Sadly, I’ve wished death on several Republican Senators. While I’m allowed to be a raving lunatic at times, a United States Senator shouldn’t say things like that particularly with Senator Byrd being in poor health. Stay Classy Tom Colbin!

I immediately thought of Byrd and thought this was sickening — especially in a year when Kennedy died.If he wanted to pray for intervention, he should have prayed for a change of mind not absense. A-hole!Jennifer
