Super Stupid

The Republicans are really, really, really phenomenally stupid.

Senate Republican Leader Mitch McConnell (R-K.Y.) sent out a press release on Sunday, titled: “Cutting Medicare is not what Americans want.” That was followed by a new press release on Monday. Its title: “Expanding Medicare ‘a plan for financial ruin.’

The self-contradictions keep rolling along. And as I mentioned a couple of weeks ago, the gap between contradictory statements is continually narrowing. We’re down to, what? 24 hours now?

I generally try to remind myself that the Republcan’ts in DC don’t necessarliy reflect my friends and family who are Republicans. I try really hard. But the more I see stuff like this, the more I want to slap my friends and family upside the head for not NOTICING this kind of crap. I am starting to get angrier at the Republicans I know than at the can’ts in DC. How stupid does one have to be to not see the hypocracy and feel duped?Jennifer

Jennifer, I often feel the same. But most republicans I know are genuinely caring people who were raised to mistrust democrats and/or are just too religious for their own good. They ignore the contradictions from their party leaders, just as many democrats do. Someone could write a scathing article about Obama’s presidency and someone else could write a glowing one and they could both be completely accurate. So who’s to say who’s right?(well, obviously WE are)My personal opinion is that life isn’t easy, it’s a rough world and whatever you have to do to get through it, as long as you’re a well-intentioned person and don’t harm anyone by your actions, it’s hard to judge. At least, that’s how I reconcile my worldview. Otherwise I’d have a hard time even speaking to my conservative friends.

I live in a retirement / resort area. Most of the residents are “well-off” to wealthy. The one thing that I find to be a common thread among the vast majority of these people is that they are Republican and arrogant. They just know they are right. They are the definition of FAE’s.I have one major problem with our President. This idea of bipartisanship. It wont happen. So why does he kiss the asses of the Republicans? They have pandered so consistently to the religious right that their party has morphed into a religion. To act in the best interest of the country is to risk going to Hell. I am sure that most of their prayers are for the failure of our President.Fuck them.
