Here’s LBJ’s 1966 tree — which he clearly dug out of the ground himself,Griswold style.

Nixon’s 1969 tree is ironically leaning to the left. (Also… EvenNixon’s tree was crooked. Get it? POW!)

Carter’s tree from 1977 was so excellent that it required a festiveyet intimidating garland barracade surrounding it.

The ornaments on Bush’s 1991 tree are needlepoint figurines from Noah’sArk because nothing says Happy Christmas! like a worldwide genocideby drowning… portrayed in needlepoint.

    I’ve found myself asking this several times in the last few weeks. Is Michelle Obama pregnant?I don’t mean to be all gossipy. Recent photos of her have just got me wondering…

    “Is Michelle Obama pregnant?”Wow – I looked at the top photo again, and she sure looks it.Regarding the Nixon picture – his tree leans left only from our perspective. For him – it’s leaning right. Maybe I’ve hit upon some kind of transcendental political wisdom-nugget here.Yes – Gerry Ford is all decked out in pimp duds, but… it was the 70′s, and we all were.

    the Truman tree might look a little better in a color photo — there are probably ornaments under the tinsel that ALL trees had to have in the 50′s and apparently in the 40′s as well – but batboy would probably still look weirdre: Ford. It WAS the 70′s! But maybe he had also been hanging out with the Rat Pack.Snark for this year’s tree: It looks like it was decorated by the Boy Scouts. What’s with the blue and gold?(I love Christmas trees and, except for Truman’s, I like these trees!)I will be very surprised if Michelle is pregnant. I think she is happy to be over the baby/toddler stage of child rearing.

    I have to say I like 41′s tree the best, but that’s because of the model train underneath and I always loved model trains.

    Jimmy Carter’s tree looks like something in a Dr. Seuss book. I like it.Slight tangent: Sec’y of Commerce announcing the patent office will fast track green innovation patents. This is great news IMHO. McCain would have done the same thing I’m sure.

    That particular dress would make her look pregnant no matter what, and it only gets worse when she cups her tummy with her hands like that. BUT – if she is pregnant – that’s a great dress for the occasion…QT

It’s like they used to say on the “Don and Mike Show”: She’s just got a case of the VISH-ASS.Nothin’ she can do about it; it’s congenital, there’s no cure. She’s still a very beautiful, intelligent woman whom I’m proud to have as our First Lady. She gots the Vish-Ass, that’s all. No worries.

    The Obama’s are the best looking and happiest looking President & First Lady I can ever remember seeing. Don’t they look great?!?Although, I do remember reading a whole lot about LBJ and Lady Bird. They had a good marriage, so hopefully the were happy together.LBJ had a rough presidency, Vietnam, Civil Rights, racism what not. He did have a conscience.Obama is facing so much more, it’s amazing that he can keep it separate from his family life, if, in fact, he can. I just wish he had that hard ass streak that LBJ had.

    The Obama’s are stunning. That may be the biggest smile in presidential portrait history.Nixon’s tree looks like a Chilean dictator in a government ad reel for kids.Truman’s looks like an Addam’s Family Christmas.Someone must’ve picked Jimmy Carter’s tree and smoked it.Reagan’s tree looks lost and confused.41′s tree looks loveless and elitest.And Ford.     I would assume that Michelle looks like she’s taller because she’s wearing heels. Unless Barack is wearing them too… someone alert the teabaggers that our President is cross dressing commie.
