I just really hate today. There is even more in-fighting and fortune-telling than I thought possible. I agree with your post but something doesn’t make sense with Weiner and Frank.I hate today.Jennifer
I agree with you Bob, but you and I both know that spineless and Democrats go hand in hand. The idea that they will find them is simply a hope. If it happens I hope I eat crow but it’s not looking good. With that said, I have posted my first year review for the president. Take a look and comment if you’re so inclined.Thanks!-Ryanhttp://doubledutchpolitics.blogspot.com/

I’m curious, Bob. If you were in the Senate as a Democrat, and you were up for re-election this year, what would you do?Of course, that’s just a very unfair question. After all, you’ve not been in the Senate for Twenty years, and you’ve not taken bribes from major corporations and special interests all of your career just to keep your seat. You have not broken promise after promise after promise, until the campaign promises you make are only clever catch phrases recycled every six yars.I’m pretty sure I know what Bob the blogger would do. But these Democrats in office, who have told the world they are different than Republicans, have made too many back room deals, accepted too much sponsor money (they should be forced to wear NASCAR-like uniformns with their corporate sponsor patches visible for all to see) to grow a spine now. It’s different for Democrats; they sometimes actually stand against corporations, all the while making deals with them to alleviate the worst of the pain for the special interests. Republicans are different. They never vote against special interests and corporations. That’s why they can afford to have spines.

Bob, what do you make of Obama’s remarks today? From the NYT blog, The Caucus:“Here’s one thing I know and I just want to make sure that this is off the table: The Senate certainly shouldn’t try to jam anything through until Scott Brown is seated,” Mr. Obama said in an interview with ABC News. “The people of Massachusetts spoke. He’s got to be part of that process.”

PPP:>>>>I’m curious, Bob. If you were in the Senate as a Democrat, and you were up for re-election this year, what would you do?I would vote for this bill, then I would sell the shit out of it to my district, and then I would write or co-sponsor amendments to fix the holes.
jhw22
See!! With that last comment to PPP, you said exactly what’s missing: “sell the shit out of it to my district”. We took the public support for granted and now we’re lacking that. We haven’t done a good job selling the most recent version or there wouldn’t be so many Dems out there saying how horrible the bill is and how it’s worse than nothing. I think, to address Cassandra’s comment, Obama realizes that they need to get out and sell it to those on the left who’d rather kill it.BTW, I am OFF the Kos. I swear it this time. If I go back there again, shoot me.Jennifer

I’m not sure I follow you, Jennifer. What does Obama’s statement that “The Senate certainly shouldn’t try to jam anything through until Scott Brown is seated” have to do with selling health care reform to people on the left?
jhw22
Because he followed that up with more than that. (It’s funny that I’m lifting from a CBS link regarding an ABC interview but it was the first I found that had the quotes I was referring to):http://www.cbsnews.com/blogs/2010/01/20/politics/politicalhotsheet/entry6120485.shtml— In the ABC interview, Mr. Obama also suggested “we were so busy just getting stuff done and dealing with the immediate crises” that the White House “lost some of that sense of speaking directly to the American people about what their core values are and why we have to make sure those institutions are matching up with those values.”He said he would try to do better in connecting to Americans who feel “remoteness and detachment” from the White House and have a sense that “there’s these technocrats up here making decisions.” —Jennifer

Excellent column, Bob.Now could you ask Adrianna to try to HELP liberal causes instead of constantly undermining them?

Arianna Huffpuff? I simply cannot deal with this person who has enjoyed her undermining wench’s role from day one. Her tabloid site is a disgrace. It has simply become an ‘anything goes’ approach and a griper’s paradise with no real discourse, as substantive comments are removed or ‘pending’ And ‘sensational stories’ appeals.Anyway people,as disappointing as it is,let’s bitch, blame, …then to hold still, reflect and come out stronger. What’s done is done, but what is not done Health Care, so let’s keep the faith, and soldier on. Come on people, STAY UP! Things could be worse (Haiti).

Sorry! By the way Sir Cesca, I have ben meaning to tell you that I always have to click your site a few times well, before it opens. Very rarely do I get you on first click. Is it me? But strangely enough, I do not have this with other sites, just yours.

@Caribb: I used to think that people were exaggerating when they said certain comments were being scrubbed, but I’ve experienced it myself several times.
