That is a much needed dose of some Mr. Smith shit right there.It must feel really great to be able to stand up with no strings and a clear conscience in the U.S. Congress, skipping all the phony “my friend” bullshit formalities, and dare those smug corporate fuckers, political hacks, and right wing obstructionists, to call you a liar as you tell them what fakes and frauds they are to their Confederate faces.Damn, that must feel really good.It feels pretty damn good knowing that there are more democrats that could make that sort of statement in the company of republicans than the other way around.Yeah, republicans will make populist arguments, but they’re the undisputed champions of fake outrage, fake sincerity, and fake empathy to fill the void of a shallow world view.That should serve as a reminder to independents who think conservative republicans give a shit about you or good governance, or the future of mankind for that matter.The fact that the reps’ from the republican party tried to silence, rather than debate, Rep. Weiner’s accusations and factual observations with any shred of credibility should shine a peripheral light on the cowardice and hypocrisy of right wing politicians in America.Fighting for the people and what is right is a Democratic party principle.It’s nice to be reminded that there are more than a few Dems’ who practice this, especially when, and where, it counts.

Get this guy in the Senate. Yesterday. He can have Gillibrand’s seat.There may be hope for the Democratic Party yet, but it needs passionate FIGHTERS – like this guy and Al Franken – who know what they’re talking about, know what to do, and speak their minds.Get people like this into the leadership ASAP. Start with Schumer (once Reid gets yanked by the Nevada voters). If he doesn’t bring his determination with him, then find someone who will.I’m hoping that, just maybe, Franken can become majority leader in a decade or two. It’s pie in the sky right now, but you never know!

He was aided and abetted by my gentleman from Oregon, Pete DeFazio, another long time progressive who did a great tag team with him. We need a lot more of these guys.

That was so sweet to watch. This guy embodies the idea of “politician”, I mean the idea I always had until I started following politics. The venal skeevy smarmy fuckstick who usually stands before “the American Public” and makes grand loud grunts has been the standard for so long I forgot what a real poitician sounds like.This stone-cold fucker should be in the senate or the White House
