A Senate Democratic aide tells Brian Beutler about the Baucus version of the jobs bill:
"This was about to get bogged down again so he pulled it back."
Ya' think? The whole thing would've gone through the all too familiar Mobius Loop of attempting to get Republican support only for the Republicans to vote against everything or pull their support at the last second, followed by additional compromises, followed by withdrawn Republican support, and so on and so on and so on.
I can't believe I'm writing this, but thank you, Harry Reid, for having the nards to tell Baucus to cut the crap. So, yes, thank you, sir.
