Google Maps for this.

“Bicycle” is now an option for mode of transport in Google maps. Ostensibly, the directions given will help you avoid particularly nasty car traffic and particularly disheartening elevation changes, though Treehugger found some kinks in that when they tried to plot a route across San Francisco.

Give it a spin here. Get it? Spin? KERPOW!

I know I’m preaching to the choir here, but- bikepaths and -lanes are key to reducing obesity in the US, and to curbing wasteful driving. Also, I’d like to add that, Mark Thiessen (on the Daily Show last night) is a Douchebag^10.. that douche couldn’t stop whining about how Stewart’s interviewing was unfair to him. He hides behind all this inside info that he claims to have, and he whines like a little bitch everytime Stewart tries to point out that he’s full of shit.

That’s sweet. I still love my TopoUSA to map out my rides. It’s so nice to get that elevation profile and know when I better save some carbs for a hard climb.

We should see about maybe doing an east coast cycling meet up.

That would be cool. Check out Adventure Cycling, they have some totally awesome routes.

Kerpow! This is an awesome site if you happen to live and work and bike in either the Portland (Oregon) or Milwaukee metro areas — it DOES what Google maps now ostensibly does:http://www.bycycle.org/

If we hade more bike paths and employers who provided lockers and showers we could significantly reduce carbon emissions and cardiac disease.A word of advice: wear your helmet! I was out on a spin last summer and was hit by a car, cracked my helmet, along with my sixth cervical vertebrae, my left radius, and three lumbar vertebrae. If not for the helmet, which I do not usually use, I would be a vegetable.
