Citizen’s Arrest of the Insurance Companies

Jacki Schechner from HCAN and Robert Creamer have organized a pretty great idea. A citizen’s arrest of the insurance companies.

Of course it’s not a real citizen’s arrest, but goddamn — it’s about time someone took to the streets to say something in support of healthcare reform. I’ve never been a huge fan of protests, but the street rage gap between the left and wingnut right is enormous these days and we’re generally being out-hustled. Go, Jacki.

Bob, you must be too young to remember the protests of the 60′s and 70′s. People protested and rioted, and got the nation’s and world’s attention about the Viet Nam war, civil rights, women’s rights, gay rights, poverty and other injustices that needed righting. It happened because people go fed up with the status quo. Change happened. It will be the only way real change will happen. At this point, we have been watching very half assed health reform crawl its way to a close finish, no financial reform, vast unemployment, lost homes, stupid wars and much more go on and on. Things need to change now and people are sick of it. Expect protests and riots and hope they bring about the change we need.

Yeah, Bob. Take a look at HuffPo this morning: campus protests all over the country.
