Drudge Can’t Read

Drudge’s big banner headline today was about the president’s physical and how doctors apparently recommended that the president cut back on drinking.

You know the implication, of course.

Nevertheless, as you probably could have guessed, that’s not what the report said.

“Liberal bias” myth be damned. The press needs to get serious about calling bullshit on these liars.

We are still whingeing,Bob. Every article today is about the repubs falsehoods. I am pooped out with their shenanigens!Let’s get cracking, Bob. No more time wasting with what they say or do! Start the ‘lie versus truth column’ as I suggested so we get pro-active.Thanks in advance.

Bob, the drinking meme first appeared after the Rose Garden beer summit. My local paper has a 30-second call-in comment line; over the days following BeerFest, there must have been half a dozen comments about the president “drinking too much.” Since I live in the epicenter of the wingnutosphere (in a state that still can’t get past prohibition), I’ve tracked this nutroots meme and am unsurprised to see it bubble up to the surface.Oliver Willis and Media Matters really ought to install an early-warning system down here.

This is just another completely disgusting effort to make him seem like less than he is. It makes me so freaking sick, I am thinking about a couple of months away from the online political blogs might be wise. :( These people are just despicable human beings.
