Morning Awesome

Don’t get me wrong, I love The Soft Bulletin. I think it’s definitely one of THE best albums of the 90′s and “Feeling Yourself Disintegrate” might possibly be my favorite pop/rock song of all time, but I don’t think it’s the Flips best album. Yoshimi Battles the Pink Robots–that’s the best, by far. One of the all time greats, in fact. Hell, I don’t even think The Soft Bulletin is the Flips best album of the 90′s, that honor goes to Transmissions from the Satellite Heart. I’m not badmouthing TSB, but I think since it marked a radical departure in the band’s sound people went overly ga-ga for it, and rightly so, but some restraint is in order. It’s a terrific album, but the Flips have many of those in its oeuvre. What say you, Bob?
