Yes, Jane. Take Woolsey down. … And see what you get in her place. Hamsher has gone off the deep end.

Really good article by Cole.I find it very difficult to listen to all the Obama bashing on Huffpost by Progressives. I guess I am a glass half full person, and I look at all that he has accomplished under circumstances that are unbelievably bad, and I just feel like smacking the so-called “real” progressives.*sigh*Hamsher has been getting on my nerves for a while now, and I took myself off all of the FDL lists in order to spare myself some aggravation. She really seems to be losing it, and it’s depressing to watch, so I try not to.

Bob, Cole’s topic would be an excellent topic for your next huffpost column. Just sayin’…….

Jane reminds me a bit of Palin. Extreme and not living in the real world.

Thanks Bob,I would not have seen this and I agree completely. It is crazy and frustrating that there are so few noisy rational people.I rarely go to Huffington Post now but saw a link to the Hamsher piece on Twitter, and it made me sick to even look at the beginning – which is where I stopped reading. She is full of it.

Yeah, I pretty much said the same thing on the Jane Hamsher thing over at another blog. Who does she think she is?

What John Cole said.I’ve thought a lot about why this is the case with so many progressives. For far too many on the left the self-defeatist streak is all-consuming. If they aren’t down and out politically, they don’t know what to do with themselves.Hamsher is probably the epitome of this nonsense and just how counterproductive some on the left have become after scoring electoral victories in ’08 and ’06. Threatening to primary Bernie Sanders? Attacking the charity that Hadassah Lieberman works at? None of that makes any political sense – it’s certainly not the way to convince your political allies/friends to follow your lead. The Democratic Party has a lot of shortcomings, but as a former Republican, who left during the Lewinsky scandal when it became abundantly clear that the extreme rightwing was soon going to take over the party, any progressive who thinks the two are the same has no idea of the ugliness and hatefulness that now dominates the GOP. We simply cannot afford to have these reactionary nutjobs regain control of Congress or the White House.

Bob I totally understand where you’re coming from and I agree with you.Of course you know you got a lot of Clintonista’s still out there complaining along with disgruntle John Edwards people and republicans trolls. But still, it was a great article.

From Coles post”And the best part is going to be listening to the concern trolling of people linking to this piece, worried about the Obama administration’s fall, without so much as mentioning they have spent the last year tripping them up, whether it be for reasons of self-promotion or because their pet issue wasn’t dealt with first.”That pretty much sums it all up right there doesnt it? The first thing that came to mind when I read this was people like Stranahan. And not just him really, but all of the self-labeled progressives who seem to think planting their head in the sand like an ostrich will solve all our ills. I say self-labeled, because frankly I think they are utterly and incoherently full of shit. This sub-group of folks operates outside of reason just like the tea-partiers.Even if every single pet-issue were handed directly to this group of people, they would still find room to complain.

I registered mainly to say hell, yes! And I’ve had it with Jane Hamsher, too. Had it with her for a long time. Yes, I think it would be a better world if progressives had their way on almost everything, but the circular firing squad will never, ever get us there. Thanks for this post.

Nice list Bob.You’re right who cares about indefinite detention, approved torture, approved assassinations, lying about a public option, cutting deals with big pharma, expanding the wars, caving on DADT (and yes, he did), massive handout to rich bankers with no accountability, a financial reform that even Krugman says is worthless, and on and on on.Who care about that when you can list such an amazing list of achievements as:-Added new smart grid investments-Delivered key new funds for education-Clean cars victory to take gas mileage requirements to 35mpg-Expanded state energy conservation programs and new transit programsWow. That is earth shattering stuff there. None of which were ever mentioned on the campaign trail. I wonder why? Could it be that no one votes based on small items that any president could get passed in a fucking democratic super-majority?I’m glad I stopped by. Haven’t been here for months. What’s the first post I see? A massive Obama cheerleading piece followed by bashing Jane Hamsher.Glad to see Bob has doubled-down on the stupid. I always knew he would.

Glad to see that the firebaggers would still rather have the worst president in history than the current one.Allen, you’re still a dishonest crybaby. Shit, even your list of pet issues have been worked on a bit since then. Good to see that you think the president should just do it all for you instead of you actually doing something yourself, indolent slob. What the fuck are you so pissed off about anyway? The president didn’t write every piece of legislation leaving it instead to a bunch of petulant crybabies? (And don’t come back with “B-b-but Jerrold Nadler” either. Apples to beef brisket and all that.) Which is, you know, their JOB?
