Glenn Beck the Televangelist

This 10-minute monologue by Glenn Beck is the central topic of my forthcoming Huffington Post column today. It pretty much encompasses many of the things I’ve been writing about him for the last few weeks, with a massively obvious televangelist performance.

    I couldn’t handle it either. I did see a clip on Countdown last night that was hilarious. Screw him Bob! The clip of Jon Stewart and a choir singing “Go Fuck Yourselves” to fox news is hysterical. My sister and I were literally screaming last night when Jon started to dance. You’ve got to put that clip on your site!

    Jebus! I got through to about 6:30. I laughed when he basically said God was using him as a vessel. But I cringed when he said the Founders just stood there and did what God told them to do. I cringed because I knew that most of his audience would believe him.

    I don’t understand how anyone could sit and listen to this shit all day? I guess you truely have to be brain dead. He’s boring, ignorant, and always incoherent, that is, until it’s time to shill some more gold. I can’t even begin to describe the evil thoughts that go through my head whenever this idiots speaks. I can honestly tell you that the only thing I look forward to hearing or reading about Beck and Limpballs is their obits!

    I have to ask…Which God is talking to Glenn Beck telling him to kill rationality with that blunt object he calls a head?Son of Sam was crazy, but Glenn Beck makes 30 million?It’s almost over for Glenn. The crazy is circling the drain. He’s covering his ass going from disgraced political and social commentator to an End Of Times carpetbagger.Make money money money…

    Why is it that someone so butt ugly like Beck gets a huge audience and women have to be attractive to even be on these shows?

    What struck me the most was, as MrBrink says, how he kills rationality. BecKKK says his audience should trust his gut feeling. He says he’s read tons about the Founding Fathers and he’s figured out what really happened. BecKKK tells his audience to BELIEVE in him and his interpretation. What is it about human beings that they are so ready to fall for this kind of appeal. It’s so paternalistic, condescending and friggin dangerous. I’ve said it many times before….he’s either a complete nut job or he’s faking it to make money. Either way, he’s not to be trusted and far too many people do trust him.The good news is, that once all the furor dies down and he’s done his damage, he most likely won’t end up on the right side of history. How many nut jobs like him did? Very few.

First I have to break for our sponsor GoldLine.Those pauses are one thing that give him the televangelist feel (pun intended). That and the massive eq adjust that makes his voice so low that it sounds like it’s down there, as Bob and Elvis said, slappin’ it with teh testicles.

    I just just a 45 second clip last night on Countdown and I had trouble even listening to that much.He just oozes insanity out of his orifaces.
