Worst Person

Let’s face it, Joe Lieberman owns this series of Olbermann-style Worst Person posts. And he keeps getting worser.

In arguing against the reading of Miranda rights to terrorism suspects or affording them other constitutional protections, opponents of civil liberties run up against a powerful argument when dealing with American citizens.

Joe Lieberman has a creative solution: Take away their citizenship. “If you’ve joined an enemy of the United States in attacking the United States and trying to kill Americans, I think you should sacrifice your rights of citizenship,” Lieberman, an independent from Connecticut, told reporters Tuesday.

Then maybe we could expand that to all criminals. Eventually, we won’t need Amendments Four, Five, Six, Seven and Eight. Repeal!

    I just read on the plumline that Chuck Schumer is also in favor of this. He’s really starting to piss me off too. I’m now rooting for Dick Durbin to become Majority Leader if Reid looses his reelection bid. I’m looking forward to watching Lieberman get his ass handed to him in 2012. That is, if he actually runs again.

    I pretty much stopped blogging about Lieberman just because it feeds his need to get attention. 2012 can’t get here soon enough and hopefully we will be done with him.

    You can’t trust a Senator who has dual-citizenship with Israel. The conflict of interest meter is absolutely off the scale.

    We already have a process for this. Charge the dufus with treason, and then we can repeal his citizenship when we fit him for his last bowtie.
