The Good News

I feel bad about the gloomy economic post last night, so here’s some positive news from the same CBO report:

President Obama’s much-maligned economic stimulus package added as many as 3.3 million jobs to the economy during the second quarter of this year, and may have prevented the nation from lapsing back into recession, according to a report released Tuesday by the non-partisan Congressional Budget Office.

Now can we sidestep Tits Simpson and have another stimulus before it’s too late?

That’s great Bob, but what Robert Scheer’s post today:—————It is Obama’s continued deference to the sensibilities of the financiers and his relative indifference to the suffering of ordinary people that threaten his legacy, not to mention the nation’s economic well-being. There have been more than 300,000 foreclosure filings every single month that Obama has been president, and as The New York Times editorialized, “Unfortunately, there is no evidence that the Obama administration’s efforts to address the foreclosure problem will make an appreciable dent.” The Times noted that the administration’s main program has been a bust, with only $321 million of the $30 billion allocated to the program having been spent to help folks stay in their homes.—————Doesn’t Robert Scheer know that bashing Obama only emboldens Republicans? Is Robert Scheer a firebagger (copyright, bobcesca.com)? Perhaps Robert Scheer would rather return to Reaganomics (SCARY Buzzword Alert!! SCARY SCARY!!)I don’t get it Bob. Robert Scheer clearly doesn’t understand the realities of being president as opposed to candidate. His expectations are clearly unrealistic. He’s projecting his own left-wing fantasy onto Obama. It’s not Obama’s fault Robert Scheer didn’t know he’s a centrist.
