This topic is one of the most difficult for me at this moment. I don’t know what to think!On the one hand I am a staunch advocate of American values and sticking up for freedom of religion and understanding.On the other I believe that Islam is not a religion of peace and can understand the sensitivities that many people have toward a mosque being built at ground zero.I am on the side of allowing the mosque to be built because emotions dissipate over time and we should not make decisions based on fear during a specific moment. I am not here to argue that one religion is less violent than another based on historical trends. I live in NYC and so they’ve been showing the protests all day on the local news. They showed a clip of an 11-year-old kid SCREAMING at a community center supporter “They killed our people. They killed thousands of Americans”. They. You know, Imam Feisal killed thousands of Americans. And you know that ALL those Americans were Christians right?Out of the mouth of a babe.
