More Stimulus, If You Please

New CNN poll:

According to the survey, more Americans hold the Republicans responsible than the Democrats, with 44 percent blaming the GOP and 35 percent picking the Democrats.

“And when George W. Bush’s name is added to the mix, the number who blame the Republicans rises to 53 percent, with just a third saying that Barack Obama and his party are at fault. That indicates why the Democrats are likely to mention Bush’s name every chance they get between now and election day,” Holland said.

But according to numbers released Friday, just four in 10 Americans say they approve of the job President Barack Obama is doing on the economy. The 40 percent who give Obama a thumbs up is a new low for the president on the economy in CNN polling.

Add these results to the Newsweek poll showing Americans would much rather have more federal spending to create jobs than deficit reduction measures, and it’s clear that Americans generally believe the Obama administration needs to spend more to fix the Republican economic mess. In other words, the conventional wisdom is that voters 1) blame the president for economy, and 2) they don’t want him to spend more money to fix it. Wrong. In fact, the exact opposite is true.

The old media — wrong again.

Now someone tell the conservadems and Blue Dogs who will surely try to kill any effort to pass another stimulus.

Well, the Republicans get it both ways. When the stimulus created jobs, the Republicans said that they didn’t count because they were government supported jobs. Only private sector jobs count. Now the private sector is hiring and the federal, state, and local government jobs are disappearing. The Republicans now say that private sector jobs are only part of the story and overall unemployment is going up.Which is it?A year ago, one of our local talk radio scrambled brains was going on and on about the state of Massachusetts had to repeal the income tax and choke off state government. Last week he spent his whole show complaining because the Department of Motor Vehicles has shut most of its offices and doesn’t even bother to tell him when his birthday rolls around so he should get a new license.Where are the spinmeisters in the Democratic party? We have gotten too cerebral and need to get our hands dirty.

Hmmm…a new low? I keep seeing that term yet its always the same percentage.Yes, indeed someone needs to tell the usual bunch in the senate this information, but they don’t care. They are only thinking about what their constituents want or don’t want – which is not best for the rest of us.

Exactly! Hopefully enough of the public is paying attention. By the way, this is off topic but, have you guys seen this story? I was bored so I was skimming articles on firebagger and came across this about that idiot Emmer’s son. Emmer is the idiot who is running for govenor in Minnesota. Anyway, check out this story about his disgusting son. And wasn’t Emmer also the guy who tried to change drunk driving laws after being busted for drunk driving twice?http://firedoglake.com/2010/09/04/i-cant-believe-this-i-really-cant-believe-this/And yes, if this was a Dem it would be a huge news story!

Allonfla – Their constituents being their corporate campaign donors.EC – The traditional media does not give much airtime to the Left. They simply dont.

@JM – Oh yes, I know. but they do hear from the vocal minority (of constituents) more than they hear from the more sensible ones.
