Great. I really missed the show last week.

Here here, Ashby. I was going into Bob and Elvis withdrawal there a bit, as Canadian turkey day was back in October. I had to fill the void with the Toronto Maple Leafs! And we all know how unhealthy that is.

Kill the dirty? WowI dont think we should have transparency and nothing else, but I do think that the fact that over a million people had access to the embassy intranet shows that we dont take secrecy very seriously anymore. The state department has since disconnected from the network. And realisticly, Google probably has more damning information than wikileaks.

Agreed. The unilateral Federal employee pay freeze was unbelievable stupidity on Obama’s part. I simply cannot understand it. It undermines the economic recovery, does NOTHING to address the deficit, alienates millions of people, and gains squat in terms of legislative leverage. Stoopid.

Ouch. Born in the 50′s. Don’t hate me!

I couldnt agree more on the baby boomers. My parents are boomers and even they would agree. And they have no explaination for how a generation of hippies became todays conservatives.

Good show. Completely agree on the Wikileaks part.Elvis is a boomer, born in the fifties…….

Good show, I’ve been in withdrawal too.Re: Boomers, my parents were borns in the 1930′s (I was a late-in-life child) and they are part of the problem too. I know my Mom listens to far too many conservative news sources and she’s gotten all religious in the last few years (as has my Dad, I guess since the Death is staring them in the face). But for the baby boomers in my family, I don’t get it. The loudest one of all, actually has it the best in life. She’s well off financially, has a great career from which she will retire very soon, and she’s become so conservative lately that I’m beginning to think that aliens body snatched her and replaced her brain. Her positions make no sense…she has tons of gay friends but is against DADT. She has plenty of money but is terrified of having to pay more in taxes. She screams about the deficit regardless of the fact that she won’t have to pay it off and her ilk add to it every day they’re alive. She drives me nuts and I’ve decided not to talk politics with her because there is just no reasoning with her anymore. So I agree with Elvis, the need to “mature out of the system” (wink wink).

  • Irish Girl

oops, meant to say “They need to mature out of the system”

Excellent show, gentlemen.Death to the Boomers – funny because it’s true.Gordon Liddy, Ed Rollins, Sarah Palin rants…hotter than rats fucking in a wool sock.High pockets. Matching nicknames for different reasons, eh?

The boomers aren’t all bad, which you did point out…albeit briefly. Also, isn’t Elvis a boomer? I thought I recalled you guys saying that Elvis is in his 50′s on one of your shows.Anyway, whatever.

  • Irish Girl

At first I thought Bob said “Hot Pockets”…..I thought to myself, ‘Well that explains a lot!’:)

  • http://www.politicalruminations.com/ Nicole473

i forget how bad that quote on the ‘vp position is flexible’ was.Hilarious, and spot on analysis!

  • http://www.politicalruminations.com/ Nicole473

    forget should be forgot.

Hot Damn, a new Bob and Elvis Podcast…..what a great day.

I am a Boomer (born 1948). I am literally amazed at how many of my peers have turned into shrieking maniacs who are afraid of everything, including a black man in the White House. I think that that is all it boils down to. And it makes me ashamed to say I am from that generation.

Breaking News, Democrats have called the Republicans bluff…Harry Reid just said they will hold 2 votes!! One for the middle class and one for the wealthy.http://www.doubledutchpolitics.com/

O/T but did anyone see this on News Hounds?http://www.newshounds.us/2010/12/02/on_oreilly_michael_scheuer_suggests_president_obama_is_a_traitor_re_wikileaks.phpThese bastards, Scheuer and O’Reilly, are implying that Obama is a traitor over the wikileaks mess!!!

Each time I hear about wealthy Baby Boomers who require tax breaks to create jobs, I think of my own, personal rich person. You know the one, the guy who has an out sized effect on your quality of life, but nonetheless you haven’t met.For me, Mr. McDuck is the investor who muscled any and all non-toady members off my company’s board of directors. He then proceeded to try to cash himself out by stipulating to any future investor that his 8 figure stake come right off the gross. We 70+ employees were sent on furlough as some kind of negotiating chip between him and the Belgians, or whoever. Apparently he’s content to drive the company straight into the ground if he doesn’t get his.The sad thing is, if not for this petulant dick actively keeping us from working, we’d be flush. Customers keep placing orders, and I’ll come in to work the mill whenever there’s enough work to break even vs. unemployment benefits for that week.It just seems like the whole merger & acquisition game is through. All the easy, digestible little companies are gone, all the readily outsourced jobs already sent off. How do you rightsize a company that’s already a skeleton crew of engineering and regulatory personnel?I’m in my 20′s and I don’t want to make money for nothing, I just want to get back to paying off my MS degree. To say nothing of ever getting for myself all those things the Boomers have attained, getting married, having a house, kids. My parents made it look so easy.
