It’s a shame more people don’t at least recognize the name.Flipping off the scanner is every traveler’s fantasy. Thanks, Elvis, for having the guts to do it.Harrison Ford has made, as the expression has it, “fuck you money.” He doesn’t have to act or make good movies any more, so he doesn’t bother. Too bad, because the guy has (had?) serious chops.And finally, according to the closed captions on my DVD of Blazing Saddles, Gabby Johnson’s (Claude Ennis Starrett, Jr., a/k/a Jack Starrett) speech goes as follows:

    Re: Insanity”Insane” is not a medical term, it’s a legal term. “Mentally ill” is a medical term.The term insane, although commonly misused, refers to one who is not in possession of mental faculties to such a degree that they cannot distinguish between right and wrong; they do not apprehend that their actions are wrong/illegal. Such persons cannot be held criminally responsible for their actions as they do not have the necessary element of men rea (the guilty mind).An accused may well be mentally ill, and yet still be found sane for the purposes of criminal trial.In the case of the Arizona shooter, the evidence appears to show that his actions were premeditated and well planned. This will make a successful insanity defense almost impossible to carry. He’s clearly mentally ill (this from a lay perspective)…having read his internet posts and heard from those he attended class with, there can be little doubt that the boy has toys in the attic.     Great show again.Bob, just an FYI to Elvis, the alternative to the Total Recall body scan is far worse. I didn’t want the body scan and told them such. So they said I’d have to have a ‘pat down’. It was nothing but a grope fest. Breasts, butt, inner thigh/groin region, hands INSIDE my pants… it was awful, humiliating, and a COMPLETE violation of privacy. It made the body scan look completely benign. Elvis said in the show that he’d contest the body scan next time bc he was ashamed of himself for going along with it and ‘do whatever else they need you to do’. I had exactly that mentality and trust me, the ‘whatever else’, is far worse.

    Snoopy happy dance, that you’ve done your show again. Thank you guys!Re: Palin, Ding dong the witch is dead!Even tho cousinavi beat me to it….In re: to the legal definition…..the McNaughton Standard is generally used in law, the person must know the difference between right and wrong, must understand the consequences of his actions. And as Elvis points out, he planned it and was calm about it. That “organization” points to someone who knows what he is doing (versus a disorganized out of control person).That still doesn’t mean the guy isn’t mentally ill it just means he not SO ill he doesn’t understand the quality of his actions. That’s the key to it all.

    Oh, one more thing…..Our country is designed not to fall apart. The peaceful transfer of power amidst chaos is the whole point. Since Palin holds no real power, except in her own tiny brain and the tiny brains of her knaves, her assassination would have no affect on the country.
