Best show EVER!!I so feel you on the getting rid of stuff, stuff. Exactly what i did before we moved, and i feel so much less weighed down now!!Washington….it is different than any place I’ve ever lived. Sort of a small town in many ways.True story–Nancy Reagan used to have groups of young, good looking marines at WH bashes. One of them worked for me as a stock person when he took a leave to get his masters at Georgetown. Always thought that was something that would only happen in DC.

Just started listening to the podcast, but BRAVO on likening Michelle Bachmann to “the Other Mother.” Great reference, or greatest reference?

Hey, great show this week. I just want to let you know that through iTunes, I was able to pull the RSS feed for the podcast for those who use Android, WebOS, Blackberry, or whatever else to manage podcasts. “Merry Christmas! The shitter’s full!” -EddieGood show and very funny. Hilarious. Real life is real. Part of the reason Im moving to Cincinnati this time next year is to just move on and not really start over, but just start new. And like Elvis, where I live now people are douchebags and they can go fuck themselves.Speaking of Elvis: You should deffinantly sue. If they told you that you didnt have a tank and you do have one, and it doesnt work right. That probably violates several laws. Maybe you could get the mortgage holder to settle with you for what is owed on the property.Chris Matthews has deffinantly kicked all sorts of ass lately. As much as he loves passionate political debate, I think even he has realized that we need to get The Crazy and The Stupid under control or there will be dire consequences.Elvis doesn’t believe in the dwarf-family TV show so you dont have to believe in the vietnamese general serving pizza.

I really enjoyed the show today, lots of good laughs. Loudest guffaw came from Elvis’ comment about the “Silkwood scrubbing” he had to give himself. We need an attitude adjustment…”I got my mind right!.”

Also. Elvis, if your home is 110 years old, you would have a septic FIELD, not a septic tank. That might explain a few things. :) [My ex's family has a family farm [non-working]in Illinois that is 180 years old.]

Good show, and both of you have my sympathies for your troubles (no, you can’t crash on my couch).Septic tank, septic field, 110 years old, built last month, doesn’t matter. Waste lines should never daylight. Collect every scrap of paper you have that’s related to The Farm of Doom and hie thee to a lawyer.

I’ve just started listening to the show. 20 or so minutes in, FTR.Take this all as friendly, not-at-all professional advice for Elding and any others here going through similar circumstances: focus on the present accomplishments not current past failures. It’s not the weight of “stuff” getting on your nerves, but the pressure of keeping up with your ambitions. The pattern emerging from the opening dialog regarding “stuff,” banksters, dislocated septic tanks etc. is diminishing returns. Figure out what investments are REALLY worth pursuing (meaning are the returns necessary to lifestyle), temper your ambitions, and look for what makes you comfortable at different stages of your life. The latter will guide you to the former.I’ll be listening to the rest on the way to work.Stay strong.

Oh, the observations regarding your daughter are most significant. Start from there. However, remember to include yourself in the equation. A lot of parents focus a bit too much on the future of their children, while never giving the child room to discover things for themselves. More often then not, you’ll learn something about yourself watching a child go through what you’ve been through. I’m not a parent, but I’ve counseled many, and the same articles persist. Keep them safe. Make sure they’re not overwhelmed, but if they are, take care not to overwhelm yourself.Hell, I’m raring to go this morning. Passively counseling and everything. Must be because I was snowed in yesterday.Out!

Oh, and I agree with brentblah.
