In other news, Rand Paul, who is an old white man, warns us that the GOP is in danger of becoming "the old white man's party." You don't say?

Meanwhile, Jeb! Bush was asked about police brutality during a meeting with the Des Moines Register editorial board and he responded by talking about black-on-black crime. Way to go, Jebby.

And finally, one of the Bundy militiamen referred to a local judge's granddaughter as a "prostitute" because she cried during a community meeting.

Earlier this week, Judge Steven Grasty’s granddaughter, Ashlie Presley, choked up at a Burns town meeting while explaining that Ammon Bundy’s armed takeover of the Malheur National Wildlife Refuge had put the community in fear.

“I should not have to be scared in my own hometown,” Presley said. “I know that all of my friends have been scared and have come to me to know what to do.” [...]

“That judge was prostituting his granddaughter for political purposes,” [Pete Santilli] opined. “I’m going to call it for what it is. If it were my granddaughter, I would not treat her like a prostitute like he did.”

The Oregonian reports that militiamen began stalking and harassing residents before the hostile takeover even began.

In mid-December, another student from the high school was heading home about 7:30 p.m. from an exercise class downtown when she noticed an SUV behind her. It turned when she did onto a street leading to her house, keeping its distance and moving slower than traffic.

"They were creeping behind me," she said. When she hit the intersection where her house sits, the SUV was still there and she "freaked," she said.

She reversed course and headed to the high school, where she knew people were attending a music program.

"I was thinking, 'Don't stop.'"

The SUV followed her until she turned onto a back driveway to the school. She saw the SUV drive to the front of the school and then head back toward downtown Burns, but at a slow pace as if it were looking for her, she said.

She called a friend, who escorted her home.

"When I got home, I was shaking and crying."

She slept with a baseball bat beside her that night.

For all that girl knew, she could have been pursued by a murderer or rapist.

I wouldn't lose a wink of sleep if state or federal authorities stormed the wildlife refuge tomorrow took out every one of them. They're terrorists.
