We're going to hear this a lot over the coming months as Republicans try to justify their support for Donald Trump.
Senator Mike Rounds (R-SD) told reporters this afternoon that that even if Donald Trump is terrible, he's still better than any Democrat.
ROUNDS: "Even if you're disappointed with the way he's responding to things, even if you're mad at him, you disagree with him, if he did it intentionally -- I don't think he did, I think he just made a mistake -- even if he did, they're still going to do a better job with him there than if you had Hillary or Bernie in his place."
I suspect there will be a significant number of conservatives and Republicans who don't actually believe Trump would be better than Hillary Clinton, but they will say so anyway for the sake of party loyalty and to avoid Trump's wrath.
