For some unknowable reason, the remaining Republican presidential candidates not named Donald Trump have agreed to meet with failed candidate Jeb Bush.
Bush, who until recently was also a presidential contender, plans to meet separately with Florida Sen. Marco Rubio, Texas Sen. Ted Cruz and Ohio Gov. John Kasich, a spokeswoman said. There are no plans for Bush to meet with businessman Donald Trump — no surprise given their acrimonious relationship.
The spokeswoman wouldn't say where or when the meetings will take place other than to confirm they will occur today.
One assumes he will endorse a candidate after meeting with each of them, but it's hard for me to imagine why any of them would want his endorsement.
I was going to say his endorsement wouldn't make a difference, but that's not necessarily true. It's likely Jeb's endorsement would actually hurt the candidate he endorses. Even if he doesn't endorse a candidate, there couldn't possibly be any worthwhile advice he can offer them.
It's amusing to think that one of the most recognizable names in the world, a name forever wed to the Republican brand, has been so thoroughly tarnished it's practically Kryptonite.
The neo-cons are dead.
