One of the funniest scenes from Planes, Trains & Automobiles, directed by the great John Hughes. The best Thanksgiving movie ever made, and one of the most underrated comedies of all time.
Years ago, when I first showed my daughter this movie on Thanksgiving Day, she sort of stared blankly at it -- laughed at some of the funny parts, but mostly appeared to not get what was happening in the story. Hell, she was maybe five years old at the time (don't worry, we skipped the classic Edie McClurg f-bomb scene).
But hours later, while we were all enjoying Thanksgiving dinner, she suddenly burst into uncontrollable fits of sobbing. Startled, we asked her why she was crying, and through her tears she replied, "Because Del Griffith doesn't have a HOME!" That's a true story. Awesome.
