Not Intended to Be a Factual Statement

This is a real thing that exists. It isn’t a parody.

AyotteChecks

Ayotte says “misleading television and radio ads are counterproductive and only help to poison this important discussion.”

There is nothing wrong with the ads attacking her for siding against expanding the background check system, because it’s all true. This op-ed from Ayotte is misleading to the point of being a lie, and her accusation that it is her critics who are lying is Orwellian to say the least.

Senator Jeff Flake employed the same line today as has presented himself as being both for and against background checks.

The question now is who wrote this set of talking points? Flake and Ayotte are reading from the same script.
