McCain either doesn't know what "vindicated" means or he's deliberately attempting to trick the gomers at his rallies. Here's what happened. Yesterday, Senator Obama said this in Iowa:
"My faith in the American people was vindicated and what you started here in Iowa swept the nation," Obama said.
TRAITOR! TERRORIST! EVILDOER! You might be asking yourself, "Yeah, so what's wrong with that?" Well, desperate McCain is spinning this to mean that Senator Obama didn't have faith in the American people. Here's McCain's disinigenuous smear:
"My country has never had to prove anything to me, my friends. I've always had faith in it and I've been humbled and honored to serve it."
Vindicated: "to provide justification or defense for." In other words, Senator Obama's faith in the American people was justified by the people of Iowa.
Besides, McCain didn't "always have faith" in America. Sam Stein recalls this McCain quote:
"I really didn't love America until I was deprived of her company..."
