"It's (like) Jed Clampet's oil," P.J. Hahn, the Plaquemines Parish Coastal Zone Director, told Fox8. "All we need is the theme song to 'The Beverly Hillbillies.'"
Additionally, Hahn told the station that he found thick, heavy crude underground after digging a few feet with a shovel. "I would have never thought that this oil would be this deep underground," Hahn said.
The same thing happened at Prince William Sound. In fact, you can still find buried oil on the shore there. For example:
