The right-wing outrage over the president's "absorb a terrorist attack" statement is easily the most disingenuous Republican thing since death panels.
I can half-understand some pokes from congressional candidates to score a jab or two, but as Sullivan points out, the "professional right" is joining in as well. The lack of seriousness isn't surprising, of course, but in this case, they look like super duper dumbstupids.
The president was clearly saying something they would otherwise agree with: America is strong. Period. But they're going for the cheap, unfair, deliberately moronic response. Are we seriously supposed to debate the merits of policy with these bastards?
