Former Grand Wizard of the Klan David Duke has a long way to go and a primary to win before he appears on a general election ballot but, in that event, he'd like you to vote for the Duke-Trump ticket.
Some residents of Louisiana may soon hear a robocall from David Duke urging them to vote for the white nationalist platform of Trump and Duke.
“Massive immigration must stop now. We’ll be out numbered and outvoted in our own nation, it’s happening,” Duke says. ‘We’re losing our gun rights our free speech. We’re taxed to death. We’re losing our jobs and businesses to unfair fair trade. We’re losing our country. Look at the Super Bowl salute to the black panther cop killers.
“It’s time to stand up and vote for Donald Trump for president and vote for me David Duke for the U.S. Senate.”
In related news, the Republican party of Louisiana has decided not to prevent Duke from running in the party's primary because it could cost them too much money.
"We need to review the legal options or we are going to lose thousands of dollars with this tied up in court," said Michael Bayham, a member of the Republican State Central Committee from St. Bernard Parish attending the GOP's quarterly meeting in Baton Rouge this weekend.
Avoiding the embarrassment of David Duke seems like it would be worth "thousands of dollars," but the Louisiana GOP apparently didn't think so.
I have no idea if David Duke will win a spot on the general election ballot, but if he does the state Republican party may greatly regret this decision. They may also regret it even if he doesn't.
