So I've had a chance to make some cursory rounds through the tubes and people are still really angry and shouting about killing the bill. I thought there'd be a chance that, by now, we'd simmer down and confront the reality that the status quo is unacceptable and that, while it's not perfect, the bills will help millions of people while creating a structure for improvements not unlike Medicare, Social Security, etc.
No such luck. Apparently we're still preferring the status quo, an electoral bloodbath in 2010 and two-to-six years of midnight basketball legislation and Republican investigations of the president's birth certificate.
