The far-right media got its hands on another DHS report advising state and local law enforcement about the militant activities of right-wing militia groups. Naturally the report has validity since these are extremist, terrorist groups that have a proven track record of acting out with violence.
But the far-right insists the DHS report, titled Domestic Terrorism and Homegrown Violent Extremism Lexicon, will target right-wing activists and, presumably, bloggers who oppose the government.
A guy at Pajamas Media writes that the report targets anyone who might "oppose federal regulations and support the Second Amendment to the Constitution, and though you don’t actually belong to a militia, you can still be branded a “militia extremist” by your own government."
Paranoid nonsense.
If the right-wing had a clue it would take a look at the terrorism and violence carried out by its most extreme members and applaud such actions by the DHS -- especially given all of the anti-terrorism kneejerk police state militarism it endorse for the entire Bush administration. Whoops -- I forgot. Their saber rattling only applied to non-Christian brown people. Christian white people who happen to be terrorists don't count as actual terrorists.
