Up to this point congressional Republicans, in their efforts to pretend that they really care, have alleged that undocumented children are being housed in terrible conditions and that it’s Obama’s fault, but Representative Randy Neugebauer (R-TX) apparently didn’t get the memo.
According to Neugebauer, undocumented children are actually being housed at the Ritz-Carlton Processing Center and watching the World Cup on “big screen TVs.”
“They belong back with their families. When you look at the lovely way they’re getting treated — they’re getting free health care, free housing, you know, they’re watching the World Cup on big screen TVs,” he said. [...]
“What they were told is coming true: ‘Hey, if you get to the U.S., you’re going to really enjoy being there.’
Which is it? Are they being housed in deplorable conditions or are they living a life of luxury during their stay here?
The truth is likely somewhere in the middle but it doesn’t really matter as far as Republicans are concerned because they can blame President Obama either way. In their eyes he’s either an inhumane tyrant or he’s a socialist welfare president. Maybe both. One is just as good as the other. Two is even better.
The $3.7 billion request President Obama submitted that would fund additional processing facilities would certainly improve housing conditions for children who are being treated poorly, but House Republicans aren’t rushing to approve it.
Neugebauer, who is a former deacon of the Southern Baptist church, went on to say that America “can’t be the world’s humanitarian relief organization” because Jesus was just a socialist who gave people food and healthcare and the Free Market Capitalism God of record hates socialists.
Douchebauer made news during the GOP Government Shutdown of 2013 when he told a park ranger that she should be ashamed for shutting the government down.
