Why won’t Ed Gillespie’s Democratic opponent fight to protect a racial slur?
That is the question posed in this new campaign ad from the Gillespie campaign attacking his opponent Senator Mark Warner (D). Because if Warner won’t stand up for racial slurs, well, by golly, Ed Gillespie will answer the call. For freedom.
I’m Ed Gillespie and I approve this message.
Senator Majority Leader Harry Reid has a bill to force the Redskins to change their name. Mark Warner refused to answer if he supports the bill or not. Why won’t Mark Warner fight the anti-Redskins bill? Why won’t he answer questions?
I’ll answer the question. I’ll oppose the anti-Redskins bill. Let’s focus on creating jobs, raising take-home pay, and making our nation safer. Let the Redskins handle what to call their team.
Ed Gillespie will oppose the anti-racial slur bill and he’ll focus on creating jobs, because those two things are directly related. Apparently.
Judging by the depressing music of the ad which wouldn’t be out of place in a commercial for orphaned puppies, you may think a character in a dramatic film just met an untimely end but the only thing at risk is the use of a racial slur.
Won’t you mourn if the team is forced to change their name? How will America ever be the same?
The depth of depravity required to turn this into a campaign issue at the eleventh hour is beyond description because Native Americans clearly aren’t the target audience. This is a cynical ad cut for undecided white voters who are offended that you’re offended.
