Here’s the consequences of the tax cuts included in Paul Ryan’s Path to Poverty 3.0 via Steve Benen.
I put together the above chart to show the percentage change in after-tax income, but what I wanted to do was show the effects in dollar amounts. Why didn’t I? Because the chart would have been largely unreadable (an un-publishable): the lowest 20% of Americans would get a tax cut of about $40, while the top 0.1% — folks who are already multi-millionaires — would get a tax cut of over $1.2 million per year.
But remember, there’s nothing wrong with their message. Randolph simply needs to smile while handing $5 to his butler so he can go to a movie. By himself.
