Maybe, but it won’t be to show goodwill to this administration, but rather the next. China wouldn’t be particularly accommodating to a second-term Trump administration.

Besides which, it’s foolish to expect trade not to take a big hit in the middle of a pandemic. When things become somewhat more normal, we’ll see how much demand for American products there is in China.
