According to court documents filed by defense attorneys for New Jersey Governor Chris Christie's former deputy chief of staff Bridget Anne Kelly, former aide Christina Renna said Christie was lying about Bridgegate in text messages exchanged with Kelly after the scandal broke.

Christina Renna, who worked under deputy chief of staff Bridget Anne Kelly, texted: “Are you listening? He just flat out lied about senior staff and (former deputy chief of staff Bill) Stepien not being involved.” Renna added that if emails were uncovered in court discovery, “it could be bad.” [...]
In May 2014, Renna testified to lawmakers that at Kelly’s request she deleted an email that showed Kelly seeming pleased that the lane closures created problems for Fort Lee. But Renna did not tell legislators about the deleted text messages, which seem to give a different portrayal of the administration’s knowledge of the plot.
For his part, Christie has responded by saying there's "nothing new" to talk about here, but there clearly is. Private messages exchanged between Christie staffers discussing the governor's lies is new.
Kelly's defense has submitted this evidence because Kelly was thrown under the bus by the governor who claims he had no idea what his hand-picked staff and appointees were doing.
Christie, who still claims he has no idea what his staff was doing, is currently running Donald Trump's transition team which includes vetting possible staff members.
